Wind the Bobbin Up
Jan 31, 2022Nursery rhymes have so many benefits for young minds and bodies. There are physical, social, emotional, cognitive benefits. Not to mention the rich language benefits as we repeat these rhymes over and over again. We are introduced to rhyme, rhythm, inflection, and the ways vowels and consonants make words.
We can't emphasize enough how beneficial it is to share nursery rhymes with your little ones.

Ms. Elizabeth gets help from Presto the Wild Donkey and Adagio the Tortoise to teach this nursery rhyme as well as to demonstrate the difference between presto and adagio.
We guarantee you and your little ones will be giggling along with us while we try to do the actions and sing prestissimo at the very end!
How to adapt/extend:
- This song is about a bobbin (spool of thread). Introduce your child to the concept of sewing with these threading activities, organized by age from 12 months - 4 years.
- Practice singing other songs adagio (slow) and presto (super fast), or even doing other activities (such as coloring, cleaning up toys, or getting dressed) at adagio and presto speeds.
What your child is learning:
- Gross motor skills
- Spatial awareness
- Steady beat
- Concept of tempo (adagio and presto)
