Monthly Course Walk-Through Video

Aug 12, 2020

This video is a little glimpse into our subscription course. We think it’s pretty slick. If you’re wondering what $27 a month looks like with a Clap for Classics! subscription, take a look here and get excited about some fantastic musical content for you and your child. Here is a description of how a couple of our subscribers use the course in their homes:

Mom to a 2 year old

My daughter and I go for walks several times a week. Last month she loved ALL of the songs created for each individual character. We go through each song as we walk. This month she is enjoying the “Let’s Go on an Adventure” song. During the week we often listen to Peter & the Wolf as we prepare dinner. She loves taking out her puppets to help reenact the story.

This month I printed out the “feelings” printable & my daughter was SO excited about them! She sat down next to me as I cut them out & every evening likes to shuffle through them to help identify them. At 2 years old we have a long way to go at understanding feelings, but this is really helping.

Over the last month and a half she has learned which instruments represent each character & can recognize each instrument on its own. I’ve been really impressed at how quickly my 2 year old is picking up on things!

Mom to 4 kids, age 10 months - 6 years

I like to do music class in the mornings as the kids are getting up, about two or three times a week. We love watching the complete play-through—I Chromecast it from my phone to the TV. My kids’ favorite video so far this month is the one where the cat climbs up the tree—definitely lots of giggles with that one.

We also usually spend a couple of days each month watching all the bonus videos. A favorite this month is Meet the Percussion: Sadie and Aubrey have been making percussion instruments out of just about anything, and Connor will drum on the floor out of the blue with a big smile on his face when he hears a beat—especially something loud. I love that my kids are learning about so many different instruments and starting to appreciate classical music.

We visited a cousin this weekend, and when he showed them the French horn he got for his school orchestra my girls excitedly told me, “Mom! That’s the wolf!” We’ve watched the full Peter and the Wolf story on YouTube a few times already, and when YouTube automatically plays other orchestra videos afterward my kids actually stay interested! Sadie is on the lookout for instruments she hasn’t yet met through the bonus videos and points them out excitedly so we can try to learn about them on Google.

And the music and activities really stick with them. I’ve caught Aubrey singing “Call Me Cat” to her dolls and pretending to put hats on them.
