How to Make More Time for Things that Matter

As an intentional parent who loves their child, you want to provide all the good, rich learning experiences for them, but the reality is sometimes it feels like there's just not enough time in the day.

We all have the same limited 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, so how do you decide where to spend that precious time?

Choose activities that help little brains and bodies grow and learn in multiple ways.  The good news is it can still be simple to prepare, have a big impact and be enjoyable for the whole family.

Think smarter, not harder when it comes to activities for kids under 6.

How would you rather spend your time?

Option #1: Spend hours scouring pinterest
Option #2: Purchase and try out lots of curricula to see what your child will like.
Option #3: Find an open and play program that will help me educate and entertain my child.

You make choices constantly, although sometimes subconsciously, about how to spend your time, based on what you think is important.  Ultimately, you spend your time on things that matter to you.

If you are a parent who believes that open-ended play is important, you will seek out activities that can foster that.  If you believe that social experiences are what your child needs to learn how to navigate sharing and working together, you will facilitate those experiences.

For parents like you, who understand the importance of music and instilling a lifelong love of music in their children, Clap for Classics is the perfect option for a musical open and play experience for your toddler or preschooler

In a 30 minute class, your child will learn musical terms and so much more. For example:

Clap for Classics makes learning fun! It gets your child moving, thinking, imagining, and connecting.

Simplify your activities to create more time for what matters.

Would you rather spend your time with your kids learning and connecting together or planning and preparing?

Here is what one Clap for Classics! Parent says:

We make bringing high quality music into your home as easy as possible.

Clap for Classics is on-demand and done-for-you with little to no prep involved.  Think of it like the Netflix of musical play activities.  Your child is not going to be zoned out watching something mindless when you turn on our program.

You will be moving your bodies, singing, dancing, playing games and exploring instruments.

We like keeping things as simple as possible!  We have created a musical play experience for you and your little one that doesn’t take up your precious planning or preparation time.  Just press play and get started making musical memories with your little one.

Choose activities that you enjoy as much as your children!

When we’re talking about your precious time and how you spend it we recommend prioritizing activities that you both enjoy.

When you find play that connects and bonds you together AND that doesn’t drive you crazy, you will make time for it over and over.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has found many benefits of one on one play for kids and caregivers:

Research demonstrates that developmentally appropriate play with parents and peers is a singular opportunity to promote the social-emotional, cognitive, language, and self-regulation skills that build executive function and a prosocial brain. Furthermore, play supports the formation of the safe, stable, and nurturing relationships with all caregivers that children need to thrive.

Play is not frivolous: it enhances brain structure and function and promotes executive function (ie, the process of learning, rather than the content), which allow us to pursue goals and ignore distractions.

There is huge value in one-on-one time with each child every day.  Your day will run much more smoothly when you fill your child’s attention cup.  And you as a parent will also feel fulfilled knowing that even with a few minutes a day, you are doing something vitally important for you and your child.

There are lots of valuable ways to connect with your child one-on-one.  One of my favorites is snuggling up reading a good book.  Sharing musical play is another favorite and fun way to bond and connect with your child.

Children learn so much by seeing you model an activity.  They engage more with the play if you sit and engage with them, and you might even find yourself learning right along with them.

One thing we have heard over and over from parents is how much they enjoy the connection that shared music making brings.  That makes our hearts sing and what truly keeps us creating content for families.  If we can help facilitate connection and learning and fun in your home, then we are doing our job!

How can Clap for Classics help add more music, connection, and ease into your day?

There are many ways to include Clap for Classics! content in your routines.  It can happen daily, weekly, or somewhere in between.
