Bumblebee Songs and Sign Language

Feb 29, 2020

We can’t stop talking about things that FLY! We had so much fun putting together our “Flight”-themed Online Music Course, and we thought it would be nice to share some supplemental “flight” songs for the rest of the month. Today’s subject is BUMBLEBEES!

I’m Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee is one of those classic songs that I remember my mom and dad teaching me as a child. I listen to the words of the song now and think -- huh, this is kind of a weird song! (Has that ever happened to you?) But, it is a children’s classic nonetheless!

We’ve paired this song with an original (somewhat) song about taking a walk in My Neighborhood. As we walk, we meet a dog, 2 kitties, lots of birds, and … a bumblebee, of course. It’s only “somewhat” original because it’s based on a classical melody. This tune is by Beethoven, and we added the lyrics. We love turning classical melodies into kids’ songs! We’ll definitely share more of these with you over time.

We hope you enjoy having some silly fun with your kiddo and his or her “baby bumblebee”, and learning a new song that includes some ASL animal signs as well.

If you enjoyed this bumblebee mini-class, you'll love our "Flight" course.  Check out all the details here!
