"As an early childhood educator I know how beneficial early musical education is for children, but as a mom of my own two boys, I just didn't have the time or energy to get it going on my own. Clap for Classics gives me the in-home curriculum I've been looking for. It gives me meaningful activities I can do right at home with little to no prep work. I love that it's organized so we can go at our own pace and revisit favorites as often as we like. Finally I am enjoying musical experiences with my little one. My only regret is not having Clap for Classics sooner!"

Jessica

"Okay! I needed this course in my life like, yesterday! I have a hard time coming up with ideas and my kids lose interest easily, but I WANT to do more music with my younger kids. I'm not giving up on the type of mom I want to be, and tools like this help me so I don't have to figure it out on my own! Thank you!"

Teandra

"My daughter loves these music classes! Mrs. Nixon is the best and her teaching style suits even the youngest of children to learn, sing, and dance along to music. She also makes it enjoyable for not just the kids, but the parents too!"

Ashlan

"Clap for Classics is more than just a music program—it is a well-rounded, whole child approach to music: from basic music terminology and subtle music theory to masterpieces of the classical composers, Clap for Classics acknowledges the innate desire of children to dance, to sing, and to do both at the same time, without restraint and with unbridled enthusiasm."

Each monthly course is based around a major work of classical music.  The first three months, (April, May and June) will be a study in "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saëns.  Each new classical theme will be announced in the month before it is released.  Kids will be introduced to each movement in the "Carnival of the Animals" through guided active listening activities.  Other songs and activities in the course will support and supplement the "Carnival of the Animals" theme.

If you would like to sit down and do one of the monthly courses all at once it will take between 30-45 minutes.  There are many options for how you can enjoy the course.  Let your child's attention span lead the way.  Replay favorite videos and come back as often as you'd like!

This course is perfect for you whether you know nothing about music, or are a seasoned musician yourself.  The activities and songs taught are simple and easy to learn and implement. The curriculum has been thoughtfully planned with musical and developmental goals in mind.

Classical music has many benefits for kids.  It boosts concentration and self discipline.   It helps develop social skills and listening skills.  Exposing children to classical music also will increase their likelihood of enjoying a wider variety of music later in life.
