Musical Moments Day 4
Notes for Parents:
Of course, we love to sing nursery rhymes, but even spoken nursery rhymes are fun and provide great benefits.
Nursery rhymes are a great way to boost vocabulary exposure.
Through repetition, children begin processing the way vowels and consonants come together to make words. They also start making sense of inflection and rhythm in spoken language, which in turn helps them learn to read!
I have some great news for you: repetition is key and so beneficial for our little ones to process all of the language skills they’re acquiring.
Be sure to repeat this activity and other nursery rhymes over and over, your child will continue to learn, grow and develop language skills from the rhymes.
In this video I introduce “Hey Diddle Diddle” to Charlotte -- this nursery rhyme is just one example of a perfect starting point for language development in our little ones. It’s short, it rhymes, and the images are just so silly that they are easy to remember and fun to repeat.
You’ll get some ideas of how to maximize language development while watching this video.
