Musical Moments Day 3
Notes for Parents:
In this activity your little one is working on listening skills, impulse control, and gross motor movement, among others.
For this “Baby Kangaroo” song, simply sit on the floor with your little one, or optionally you could grab a blanket to use as a kangaroo “pouch” for your little one to cozy up in between hopping sessions.
Here are a few ideas on how to extend and adapt this activity for your little musician.
- Talk about rhyming words: hop, stop, drop. Can you think of other words that rhyme with hop? Have fun singing the chorus exchanging “hop” for a rhyming word. (For example “Out she pops, moppity mop, moppity moppity mop - a- don’t stop, mop mop mop until she drops!”)
- Talk about trying again, even when we fall down. Baby kangaroo was determined to learn, and she kept hopping, even after she fell down.
I hope you loved this sweet snuggle and movement song! Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow where I’ll share a nursery rhyme activity and chat about some of the powerful benefits of sharing nursery rhymes with our little ones.
See you tomorrow!
