Musical Moments Day 2
Notes for Parents:
This activity is a sure win for you and the kids. It’s a classical spin on the popular and simple freeze dance game.
To prepare, just clear some space and get ready to move!
One cue I often give my students when listening to classical music is, “how does this music make your body want to move?”
This music is Russian composer Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee” and I imagine it will have you buzzing and flying around the room!
Your little one is working on impulse control, listening skills, gross motor development, and tempo during this activity - not to mention just having tons of fun!
For babies: Scoop up your baby and dance/move with him. Have fun freezing when the music stops and making eye contact with your baby. Say the word "stop" to help build vocabulary!
This is a perfect activity for burning off energy and letting your child be wild and crazy. Turn up the volume, and have fun!
If you'd like to do this activity away from the screen, turn on an audio-only version of the music, and simply press pause/play to turn it into freeze dance!
We hope you enjoy this fun and engaging classical music game! Be sure to watch for tomorrow’s email and activity, we’ll be sharing one of our most popular original movement songs!
